By using the Jackpot Jar website or app, or by creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Jackpot Jar.
1. What Jackpot Jar is
Jackpot Jar is a pilot of a new kind of game. You pay money in, play casino-style games, and win tokens. Tokens are entries into a weekly prize draw. The money you pay in is held for 12 months and then returned to you in full. You never lose your stake.
Jackpot Jar is not a bank, a savings account or a gambling operator. During the pilot it is an experiment run by System Two with a small group of invited players.
2. Who can play
You must be 18 or over and live in the United Kingdom.
You must have a UK bank account in your own name.
During the pilot, you must have been invited by us.
3. Your money
Money you pay in is held in an account in the name of System Two Group Limited, kept separate from our own money, until it is returned to you.
Each payment is returned to the bank account it came from, in full, 12 months after you made it.
We never take any part of your money. We do not charge fees.
During the pilot, any interest earned on the pooled money is used to fund prizes or is kept by System Two to cover the costs of running the pilot. We will tell you which before you pay in.
Your money is not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme during the pilot.
4. Getting your money back early
You can ask for your money back at any time, for any reason. There is no penalty.
We will return it to the bank account it came from within 5 working days.
When you take money out early, games are paused on your account for 30 days and any tokens you hold are removed. We may get in touch to see how we can help.
5. Limits
You set a monthly limit when you sign up. You can lower it at any time. Raising it takes 24 hours to take effect.
Nobody can pay in more than £500 a month or £2,000 in any 12 months.
No more than 500 tokens a week count towards the draw, however many you win. Nobody can buy their way to the prize.
6. Tokens and the Sunday draw
Tokens have no cash value and cannot be bought, sold or transferred.
Each token counts as one entry into the next Sunday draw. Entries do not carry over.
The draw is made at random every Sunday at 8pm. The winner is told by email and announced by first name and town on our website unless they ask us not to.
Prizes are funded by sponsors or by System Two, never from players' money. The prize for each week is shown on our website before the draw. If no prize is shown, there is no draw that week.
Prizes are paid within 10 working days to the winner's bank account.
7. Fair play
One account per person.
If we think an account is being used to cheat, by someone under 18, or with someone else's money, we may close it and return the money.
8. Our responsibility to you
We will take reasonable care to run the pilot properly and to keep your money safe and return it as these terms describe. Apart from that, Jackpot Jar is provided "as is" and "as available" during the pilot. We do not promise that the website or app will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted, and we may change or withdraw features while the pilot runs.
We are not responsible for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as a bank or payment provider being unavailable, or for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under English law, and nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
9. Your responsibility to us
You agree to use Jackpot Jar only as these terms allow and only with money that is yours. If we suffer loss because you break these terms, for example by cheating, using someone else's bank account or letting someone under 18 use your account, you agree to cover that loss. This does not apply where the loss is caused by our own negligence or wrongdoing.
10. Intellectual property
The Jackpot Jar name, logo, games, website and app belong to System Two Group Limited. You may use them to play, and for nothing else, without our written permission.
11. Changes and ending the pilot
We may change these terms or end the pilot. If we do, we will tell you by email and return all money held, to the account it came from, within 30 days.
12. Complaints, law and courts
If something goes wrong, email mark@system-two.com and we will reply within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
